“The Road to 2030: Accelerating Progress on the Sustainable Development Goals”​

12-14 May 2025, Girne American University, North Cyprus​

As the global community progresses toward the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), complex, interconnected challenges call for innovative research, practical solutions, and strengthened partnerships for achieving the universal goals. Business Faculty of Girne American University, in collaboration with Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, is conducting the International Conference on Sustainable Development with the Theme “The Road to 2030: Accelerating Progress on the Sustainable Development Goals” on 12th-14th May 2025 at the Girne American University, North Cyprus. The conference seeks to explore multidisciplinary perspectives, best practices, and transformative ideas that accelerate progress and address inequalities in achieving sustainable development worldwide. It aims at bringing together local and international scholars to engage critically with development issues from theoretical and empirical perspectives. The Conference will also address issues of policy and practice, or examine in innovative ways the link between politics, businesses and development in regions or countries.

The conference agenda will include both plenary sessions with the keynote speakers, parallel sessions with contributed papers and poster presentations. We kindly invite papers related to the following topics:

The papers that do not fit into the aforementioned categories, but are related to the main conference theme, are also welcome.

The language of the Conference is Turkish and English. Selected papers can be presented either in person (as an oral or poster presentation) or virtually (online).

Paper submissions should be uploaded to the submission system as extended abstracts in English only. Extended abstracts should be between 600-800 words. The abstract should clearly state the topic, objectives, methodology (if applicable), key findings and keywords. Accepted extended abstracts will be published as “Book of Abstracts”. Authors should also indicate whether their presentation preference is oral, poster or virtual. Submissions are subject to blind peer review at every stage.
